Co-Teaching with AI: Redefining the Educator's Role in the AI Era (Ms Jenny Leung)

Updated: Sep 30

What does it mean to be a teacher when Artificial Intelligence can assist with everything from lesson planning to personalized feedback? Ms Jenny Leung, an Assistant Principal and Drama Teacher at Tai Kwong Hilary College, tackled this challenging question in her breakout session. With a wealth of experience as an Apple Distinguished Educator and Google Certified Innovator, Ms Leung reframed AI not as a replacement of teachers, but as a powerful co-teacher that can transform educators into even more effective facilitators of learning.

Her presentation, "Co-Teaching with AI: Redefining the Educator's Role in the AI Era," moved beyond theory to offer a practical toolkit for the modern classroom. Ms Leung demonstrated how AI can be harnessed across the entire teaching cycle—using real-time examples for creating dynamic lesson plans, generating differentiated reading materials, and even crafting custom AI assistants for students. This hands-on approach empowered attendees with accessible, actionable strategies to leverage AI while enhancing student engagement across subjects.
